Corona, CA, Jan. 10 -- Get ready for a whole new outdoor basketball experience! WSBC Properties, LLC is proud to announce the launch of the 3-on-3 World Streetball Championship Pro Series® in partnership with Six Flags, Inc. (NYSE:SIX), the largest and most recognizable regional family theme park operator in the world. The inaugural tournament is scheduled to launch July 11–13, 2008 at Six Flags America located just outside Washington, D.C. Eight U.S. teams will be selected to showcase the best Streetball athletes from across the nation.
The organization is founded by Ben Stephens who also created & produced MTV’s reality series “Who’s Got Game” starring NBA legend Magic Johnson. The WSBC Pro Series will set the stage for the return of street basketball. “Streetball is rich in tradition, dating back almost 40 years, when legends like Dr. J. and Nate “Tiny” Archibald used the street as a canvas to perfect their game,” stated Ben Stephens. “I believe that streetball is authentic and pure basketball played outside,” added Stephens. WSBC’s mission is to promote “pure authentic basketball” with the quest to redefine and restore streetball back to its original glory. The local streetball court is the place where greats like Magic Johnson, Michael Jordan, Allen Iverson, Kobe Bryant, Lebron James and Carmello Anthony mastered their craft. “I’m most excited about streetball being put into a pro format” said Randy Gill aka White Chocolate. Every other sport has their professional tours, the Action Sports community has the “Dew Action Sports Tour”, Surf community has the “ASP World Tour”, even the gaming community has the MLG Pro Circuit. Now we have ours the “WSBC Pro Series” added Gill.
Many key factors separate WSBC from other basketball events such as; WSBC has built the unique platform with global expansion in mind. By 2011, WSBC tournaments will feature the best street basketball athletes in 37 countries competing for the ultimate Streetball prize through a round-robin “Tournament of Champions” with the winners being crowned “WSBC World Champions.” NCAA professionals will referee the tournaments and standard basketball rules and regulations will apply.
Portable 50x70 courts will be used and made with high-quality outdoor surface. WSBC will be the only 3-on-3 basketball tournament of its kind in the world and will showcase a no-holds barred, single elimination basketball tournament series with prize money totaling $50,000.

In conjunction with the tournament series, WSBC will also be launching community outreach initiatives including a youth 3-on-3 streetball tournament and a youth basketball training clinic. In addition, launching a national sweepstakes from June 1 – 30, 2008, with the grand prize winner receiving an all expense paid trip for four (4) people, including airfare, accommodations, weekend tournament passes and a complete VIP package.
